How to Join The Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve

Dear Friend,

The Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve welcome all interested volunteers and future members!

Membership in The Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve provides an opportunity to support our efforts to preserve a unique historic and natural treasure. Many join just to lend financial support and keep abreast of the latest activities here. Others choose to become actively involved at Auburn Heights in a variety of roles in the steam car shop and museum, on the miniature steam railroad, in the house and gardens or in our office. If you would like to learn more about volunteering, please be sure to check the link toward the bottom of this page.

Memberships include the primary member, spouse and all children still living at home. Benefits include:

• Complimentary tickets to our Steamin’ Weekends at Auburn Heights, held on occasional weekends between May and October. These public events, long a tradition at Auburn Heights, include rides on the 1/8-size, steam-powered Auburn Valley Railroad; admission to The Marshall Museum with its collection of steam cars and other antiquities from the early 20^th century; and rides on cars from the collection.
• Tom Marshall’s “Weekly News” email with updates of the latest doings at Auburn Heights and informal historical anecdotes related to Auburn Heights, the Marshall family and the Yorklyn area.
• The Auburn Heights Herald, our quarterly newsletter with articles on activities at Auburn Heights, local history and steam vehicle technology.
• Access to the members-only section of this web site.
• Invitations to private events at Auburn Heights (at $500 and higher membership levels)
• A personal guided mansion tour at Auburn Heights (at $1000 membership level)

Interested in doing more than just becoming a member?  We at the Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve welcome volunteers of all ages.   We love sharing our knowledge of steam locomotion and steam power and are committed to matching volunteer skills and interests with meaningful age appropriate and safe work assignments intended to further our overall mission.
